The Photo Central Friday Night Speaker Series!
Winnipeg Tails is a local photography project aimed at making a difference for the welfare of dogs in Manitoba. James Turner, a city journalist and journalism educator at Red River College, donates $1 to dog-related causes for each portrait of a pooch he takes while out walking in Winnipeg neighbourhoods. Since its inception in spring 2017, Turner has photographed more than 800 dogs and raised more than $2,000. The project has also gained a loyal Instagram and Facebook following. Hear the backstory of Winnipeg Tails from Turner himself at Photo Central on Friday, Oct. 26. The payoff for showing up? You’ll learn some tips and tricks of how to take engaging photographs of dogs that people will drool over and some social media tips you can put to use in your own projects.
